The Venty Vaporizer from Storz & Bickel is not a device that wants to impress you with small improvements. It goes straight to the point that often annoys the most with portable vaporizers: draw resistance. Many devices deliver good vapor, but feel like you are drinking a thick milkshake through a too narrow straw. The Venty puts an end to this and sets a standard with up to 20 liters of airflow per minute just a benchmark that others have to work hard to meet.
That alone would be strong enough, but the German manufacturer from beautiful Tuttlingen has not just built an open device. The Venty contains a newly developed mini-heater with patented convection and conduction heating, along with a flow meter that detects the negative pressure when drawing and dynamically adjusts the heating power. In plain English: You can pull hard without the vaporizer collapsing or just giving a weak breeze. That is what makes it so special in everyday use.
I did not read the Venty like a data sheet, but rather viewed and tested it for this test as a real everyday device. How fast is it really? How does the draw feel? What does the app actually bring? And above all: Is the high price just a Storz & Bickel surcharge, or is there really a portable powerhouse inside? These and other questions will be answered in the following review.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| extreme airflow | high price |
| very fast heating | no glass mouthpiece |
| dynamic heating control | quite large |
| USB-C fast charging | cooling unit requires intensive care |
| very strong performance | |
| useful web app |
Finally feel real airflow
The Venty delivers up to 20 liters of airflow per minute, providing a draw experience that other portable vaporizers can hardly achieve.

Processing, design, and first impression: functional instead of polished
The Venty is not vaporizer, that blows everyone away at first glance due to its design. To be honest, I hardly think it would ever win a vaporizer beauty contest. It appears more technical, robust, and very consciously built for function. This is typical of Storz & Bickel. Here, too, the manufacturer relies on food-safe plastic material, which does not shine elegantly in glass luxury style, but is extremely practical in everyday use. It feels sturdy and fits well in the hand.
With 15.7 cm height, 4.7 cm width, 3.7 cm depth and 252 g weight the Venty is not a pocket dwarf, like the Fenix Mini. In fact, it would bulge both the pants and jacket pockets quite a bit. So it is clearly a portable vaporizer, but not in the sense of 'disappears in every pair of jeans.' Instead, you get a device that is visibly designed for performance on the inside. Especially if you already know Mighty+ or Crafty+ , the Venty appears like their athletic, slightly broader-built cousin that brings more air, more power, and fewer compromises.
A point that many mention is the missing glass mouthpiece. Yes, it's not there. If you generally love glass, for example because you are used to vaporizers from Arizer like the Arizer Air Max you will notice that at first. In practice, however, this point quickly loses weight because the Venty delivers so strongly with its airflow and cooling unit that the mouthpiece no longer plays the main role. Glass would have been nice nonetheless. I missed it noticeably less after a few sessions than I thought. A downside: Anyone who wants can order a glass mouthpiece for the Venty as an accessory in various vaporizer shops.
Airflow and draw behavior: the actual unique selling point of the Venty
The biggest star of the Venty is not the display, not the app, and not the heating time. It is the Airflow. With up to 20 liters per minute the Venty plays in its own league. On paper, this sounds like a technical detail, but in practice it changes your entire vaping experience. For comparison: the Pax Flow only offers 10 liters per minute. Instead of working against resistance, you draw here almost resistance-free. Exactly that makes sessions more relaxed, direct, and surprisingly natural.
Storz & Bickel did not just make a hole bigger for this, as some might imagine. In fact, there is a Flow meter, which records the negative pressure when inhaling. The Venty notices how hard you pull and adjusts the heating output in real time, fully automatically. This means the temperature remains stable, even if you inhale more forcefully. Many other vaporizers have a strong effect with gentle hits and visibly break down with harder hits. The Venty doesn't do exactly that.
In addition, there is the adjustable airflow regulator. This is important because “maximally open” is not automatically perfect for everyone. If you open the airflow further, the pull becomes lighter and the convection effect becomes stronger. If you throttle it, the steam appears denser and slightly more intense. This is a real opportunity to change the character of your session. That's exactly why the Venty not only feels very strong, but also flexibly adaptable.
What the open airflow really brings in everyday use
- hardly any resistance when inhaling
- more stable performance even with strong pulls
- more natural feel instead of 'working on the device'
- more influence on density and character of the vapor
Heating system, warm-up time, and vaporization: fast, strong, and remarkably consistent
A newly developed mini-heater with patented combination of convection and conduction, as is the case with Norddampf Hammah This hybrid design is nothing new at Storz & Bickel, but it has been noticeably rethought here. The result is a device that is ready in about 20 seconds is operational and not only works quickly but also delivers serious performance immediately. This is where you notice that significantly more happens under the hood than with many average devices.
It is exciting to see why hybrid heating is even useful. Conduction, as with the Norddampf Relict, means direct heat on the material. This is fast and ensures immediate activity. Convection works with hot air that flows through the herbs and extracts them more evenly. The Venty combines both. This way, you get vapor early in the session without the extraction becoming uneven later. Especially with smaller amounts of material, this is a real advantage because the Venty can use sparsely filled chambers surprisingly efficiently.
In practice, the performance sometimes actually resembles larger devices from the living room. Of course, the Venty does not replace Volcano Hybrid one-to-one, but the comparison does not come out of thin air. The vaporization is powerful, direct, and very complete. Especially when you gradually go from a session, for example 190 °C gradually to 200 °C and later to 210 °C you notice how cleanly the device processes the material without appearing hectic or restless.
Less waiting, more vaping
In about 20 seconds, the Venty is ready to go and delivers strong performance right on point. Just right for spontaneous sessions without downtime.
Temperature control, booster and superbooster: more than just hot air
The temperature range of the Venty goes from 40 °C to 210 °C and can be adjusted directly on the device. This is broad enough to cover both very gentle, flavor-oriented sessions as well as strong, complete extractions. This makes sense, especially with herbs, because different ingredients and aroma components are released at different temperatures. Starting lower and going higher later is therefore not just a ritual, but a quite logical way to get more out of a filling.
Especially practical are the booster and superbooster functions. With a double click on the power button, you activate the booster, which raises the temperature by default by 15 °C raises it. Another double click starts the superbooster, which adds even more 15 °C to it. This is much more useful in everyday life than it first sounds. You don't have to look at the display and press buttons when you want more intensity in the middle of the session. Two quick clicks are enough, and the Venty accelerates.
With the S&B Web App these boost levels can even be adjusted. This is a point where the Venty becomes not only comfortable but also surprisingly flexible. You can tune it more leisurely or set it up more aggressively. That is exactly the difference between a vaporizer that just works and one that can be noticeably adapted to your own style.
This is how you can meaningfully structure a session
- Start at a lower temperature for flavor
- Medium level for balanced extraction
- Booster for more density in between
- Superbooster for the finale at the end of the chamber
Battery, charging and everyday suitability: strong enough for real use
Working in the Venty two 18650 lithium-ion batteries, firmly installed, but very powerful. This fits the character of the device, as so much airflow and such a dynamic heating control require energy. According to the specifications and also from practical experience, a charge is sufficient for about 10 sessions. However, what matters less is the exact number than the feeling in everyday life: the Venty is not a device that you constantly have empty in your hand. Even with intensive use, you surprisingly get through the day relaxed.
Charging is done via USB-C, which should be standard today, but still needs to be mentioned because it greatly increases everyday usability. With the optional Supercharger are 80% charge in about 40 minutes in. Fully charged, it is roughly in an hour. This is strong for a device in this performance class. However, I find it even more interesting that you can use the Venty while charging, even though it is not a real pass-through function in the classic sense.
The web app brings another point into play that many underestimate: you can limit the battery to 90% maximum charge to preserve battery life. This is not a marketing gimmick for tech enthusiasts, but actually a sensible option if you want to use a device long-term. Many are already familiar with this feature from their smartphones. Especially with a premium vaporizer in this price range, it is nice to see that such details have been considered.
App, display and operation: just a gimmick if you don't use them
The Venty has an LC display, button control and additionally the Storz & Bickel web app. The nice thing about it is: you don't have to use the app, but if you do, you get real added value. Adjusting display brightness, changing vibration, configuring boosters, preserving battery, updating firmware: all of these are functions that are quite useful in everyday life. Not groundbreaking, but also not pointless.
The connection runs via Bluetooth and works reliably. The herb vaporizer itself remains pleasantly easy to operate. You can set the temperature on the device, activate the booster, and be completely happy without an app. That's how it should be. It would only be annoying if basic functions of the vaporizer were only accessible through the app.
One point that can be fairly addressed: There could be more here. User profiles or automatically controlled session histories would be technically very feasible, especially since the Venty recognizes draw behavior and can do a lot on the software side anyway. The device is already highly customizable, but it is not yet at the end of its possibilities. Perhaps something will come through updates. Even now, however, the app is significantly more useful than with many devices where such things mainly exist for marketing reasons.
High-end meets everyday life
USB-C, app, booster, and strong battery performance make the Venty not only powerful but also surprisingly practical for everyday use.
Accessories and extensions: useful rather than just accessory shelf
With the Venty, accessories are actually relevant. Venty Titan dosing capsules are, for example, not only convenient but also greatly facilitate cleanliness in everyday life. If you like to prepare sessions or want to switch quickly while on the go, they are almost a must. The fact that they are intended for single use according to the manufacturer but can be used multiple times in practice makes them even more appealing.
In addition, there are classic wear parts such as O-rings, Screens and of course the cooling unit itself. Especially with a device that is designed for so much airflow and strong sessions, it is worth replacing such parts in time rather than endlessly vaping with partially clogged components. A fresh screen or a clean cooling unit makes more of a difference with the Venty than many initially think.
It gets exciting with the VENTY 3-in-1 Water Adapter. Because the Venty has an open draft anyway, it works very well over glass. If you like working with a bubbler or bong, this can visibly increase your comfort at higher temperatures. This shows again that the Venty is not just strong, but also fits well into different routines.
Cleaning and maintenance: simple enough if you don't wait too long.
Cleaning the Venty is not rocket science, but you shouldn't put it off forever. Especially in the cooling unit residues accumulate over time, and that's where you first notice when performance drops. The vapor becomes a bit heavier, the taste flatter, and suddenly the sensational airflow is only 'pretty good'. This is usually a sign that cleaning is due.
What works well: disassembling the cooling unit, briefly in isopropanol or VapeCleaner clean, shake, and then let dry. The mouthpiece and the disassemblable parts are easily accessible. In the lower area of the chamber, it gets a bit fiddlier, but that's still manageable. I find the tip useful to use the finer screen in the head, because this way fewer plant residues migrate upwards into the cooling unit. Such small adjustments save real work later on.
It is important not to leave plastic parts and seals in alcohol for too long. Clean briefly, don't marinate. Anyone who brushes out the chamber after each session and cleans it more thoroughly about every twelve sessions will have lasting joy with the Venty. This is not a maintenance-free device, but definitely not a case that requires constant care.
Cleaning routine that has proven effective
- Brush out the chamber after the session
- Disassemble the cooling unit regularly
- Replace screens as needed
- Clean plastic parts only briefly with iso
- Thorough cleaning about every twelve sessions

If you don't want to compromise
The Venty ist kein Spargerät, sondern ein Statement. Offener Zug, starke Technik and echte Premium-Performance bei jedem Zug.
Venty vs Mighty+: the comparison that almost everyone is looking for
The Venty ist dagegen The offensivere, modernere und spürbar leistungsstärkere Ansatz.

Conclusion: The Venty is not a compromise device, but a clear statement
Questions and answers (FAQs) about the Venty vaporizer
The Hauptgründe, warum The Venty so viel Aufmerksamkeit bekommt.
